Marissa Caldwell (she/her) is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Communication. Before joining Rutgers for her doctoral work, she worked as a secondary English teacher and completed her M.A. in English at West Chester University. Her current research focuses on studying how questions are asked and answered in U.S. Senate hearings. She has presented her work both nationally and internationally and has most recently published her research in Discourse Studies. Additionally, she is dedicated to improving herself as an educator; she works for the Teaching Assistant Project at Rutgers to help train and support other graduate Teaching Assistants, and she also works as an Instructor in the Department of Communication. When Marissa is not working, she loves to travel to new places!
