Ivan Linares M.S. (he/ him) is a second year Ph.D. neuroscience student and creative writer, born in Mexico City, whose research interests are primarily focused on how the brain integrates auditory information into the basal ganglia and is codified into relevant information that allow us to take dynamic action selections. His career started with investigating the biodiversity of birds and mammals at National Autonomous University of Mexico, He continued with a Masters in Neuroscience focused on action selection and calcium imaging in the striatum. Currently, he is working towards his Ph.D. at Rutgers University. He is passionate about figurative art, martial arts, creative writing, scientific communication and scientific outreaching.
