My name is Amily Bolano Diaz, I am a third-year law student at Rutgers School of Law, and I am writing to apply to be a graduate student mentor. I believe that my academic excellence and my extensive experience make me a unique and valuable candidate for this position. I am interested in mentoring college students and exposing them to my experience as a law student. I am a great candidate to support college students because I have had a unique experience in law school. During my first and second year as a law student, I became a volunteer for the Immigrant Rights Collective and Make the Road New Jersey where I perform DACA renewals for those who cannot afford an attorney. Additionally, during my second year of law school, I became the Training Coordinator for the Courtroom Advocates Project, where I help domestic violence survivors obtain restraining orders. Lastly, I have served as the Articles Editor for Rutgers International Law and Human Rights Journal.
