Sabrina Lima
DEI Initiatives Undergraduate Intern

Sabrina Lima is a senior majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in Nutrition. In addition to serving as a Civic Engagement Mentor in Residence at the HC, Sabrina also advocates as the HC’s Diversity Initiatives Intern, is a supplemental instructor for the Office of Diversity and Success in the Sciences, and the President of Rutgers’ Liberated Gospel Choir. Sabrina enjoys the performing arts, going to the gym, and vegan food. Sabrina plans to pursue her passion for service in the medical field, with hopes of attending medical school and later serving underrepresented countries through medical missionary work.

Jasleen Sidhu

Jasleen Sidhu

Jasleen Sidhu is a senior in the Honors College majoring in Sociology and minoring in Biology. She is the Director of Community Outreach for GlobeMed, which is one of her favorite organizations on campus. In the past, she has served on the HC Service Assembly, the Douglass Honors College Coalition, and the NADI E-Board. She is a premedical student who aspires to incorporate community and public health with evidence-based medicine to create innovative and personalized solutions to existing healthcare problems.

Deven Singh

Deven Singh

Deven is a sophomore in the 4+4 Program majoring in biomathematics and philosophy. At Rutgers, he conducts research in computational genetics and is also a mentor in the Global Roommates Program – a living-learning community supporting first-year international students. Eventually, Deven plans to practice medicine, but he currently finds meaning in streaming television, podcasts, and the piano.

Sarah Malarkey

Sarah Malarkey

Sarah is a senior on the pre-medical track pursuing an undergraduate degree in Public Health. She joined the Diversity Peer Educators to promote diversity and inclusion within the Rutgers community by facilitating civil, educated, and engaged conversations about social justice issues. Sarah is also a part of the Office for Diversity and Academic Success in the Sciences and holds a student leader position in the Department of Leadership and Experiential Learning. In the future, Sarah aspires to combine her passion for social justice and healthcare inequalities with her medical career and work with under-served and underrepresented populations.

Amanda Kang

Amanda Kang

Amanda is a Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science double major in the SOE Honors College. She spends her free time drawing, drinking bubble tea, and trying valiantly to keep her succulents alive. In addition to her work as an HC Diversity Peer Educator, she plays flute with the Rutgers Symphonic Winds, works on 2D animation in Animation Club, and learns about Android app development through the RUMAD Accelerator Program.

Peri Burton

Peri is a student in the School of Engineering planning to major in Bioenvironmental Engineering and minor in Spanish. After finishing her bachelor’s degree, she plans to work in conservation or attend veterinary school. In her free time, Peri enjoys playing volleyball, cooking, and watching musical theater. 

Anthony (TJ) Smith

Anthony (TJ) Smith

Anthony, better known by his nickname, TJ, is a second-year student in the School of Arts and Sciences. TJ is majoring in Exercise Science and hopes to one day enter the medical field. He is involved with several clubs at Rutgers and loves to play basketball and binge-watch his favorite shows in his free time. As a Diversity Peer Educator, he is excited for the opportunity to develop a more inclusive mindset throughout his school community. 
 

Foram Vaidya

Foram Vaidya

Foram is a sophomore in the Rutgers Business School majoring in Finance and Computer Science. Aside from being a DPE, Foram is Vice President of Professional Development for Ascend and a Board Member for the Association of Punjabis. She is a member of the 9th Cohort of Road to Wall Street, LIBOR, RBGA, and the Professional Business Fraternity, AKPsi. She is also currently a backend developer in the process of creating a new app through RUMAD’s Accelerator Program. In her free time, Foram likes traveling, running, and drinking bubble tea.

Victoria Gonzalez

Victoria Gonzalez

Victoria Gonzalez is a Rutgers Honors College and Douglass Residential College fourth-year student majoring in linguistics with a psychology minor. She is also pursuing the Certificate in Speech and Hearing Sciences in Linguistics in hopes of attending graduate school for speech-language pathology. Beyond her studies, Victoria works as a FIGS Peer Instructor for Exploring Linguistics and Speech & Hearing Sciences and is the president of the RU Speech and Hearing Sciences Club. She has worked as a Tutor for Multilingual Writers through the Rutgers Plangere Writing Center and as a Behavioral Assistant with children with Autism through the Rutgers Collaborative Center for Community-Based research. Motivated by her experiences as a multicultural woman and the stories of others, she aims to work with and for marginalized groups through open discourse on social justice issues. In her free time, she enjoys watching anime, eating unhealthy amounts of sweets, and going to concerts.
