Sophia Fox-Dichter is a PhD student in the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy focusing on housing and social policy. She holds a Masters in Social Work (MSW), a Bachelor's in Chinese and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design, all from Washington University in St. Louis. Before entering social work school, she worked as an AmeriCorps fellow at a community-based organization in the Bronx. After graduating from the MSW program, she worked as a data analyst for three years at the Social Policy Institute at Washington University in St. Louis. In that role, she contributed to both quantitative and qualitative research projects, gathering some journal articles and conference presentations along the way. She can provide guidance on how to get involved in research, what to do when you find an unexpected passion, and great ways to weave your interests and experience together for new career paths.
