The HC Serves Leadership Team is a student-led group that provides Honors College students with community service opportunities based on the service learning model, the integration of learning objectives with community service, while upholding curiosity, knowledge, and purpose. The HC Serves Leadership Team creates various community service opportunities for social issues such as healthcare inequality, education, environment, social wellness, and social justice. They lead the HC Serves Experience trips, monthly service opportunities, and philanthropy education.

Service Events Lead
Alex Liu (2028) is a Service Event Lead in the 6-year Pharm.D. program in the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. He is interested in the research of medications and their different effects on the human body. In addition to being the Service Event Lead for HC Serves, Alex is also a Gen HC mentor for first generation honors college students, a honors college ambassador, and a Research Assistant for the Anthony Lab doing hepatotoxicity research. Outside of school, Alex loves to play basketball, watch TV and movies, as well as hit the gym with friends.
An Nguyen is a junior majoring in Pharmacy. In addition to being a Service Events Lead, An is an HC Ally mentor and volunteers at St. Peter’s University Hospital. He also serves as secretary for the professional pharmacy fraternity Phi Delta Chi and was former philanthropy chair. In his free time, An loves to travel, try new restaurants, and do karaoke with friends!
Angeles Pinas (she/her, 2026) is a Service Event Lead majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. She hopes to one day become a physician assistant. In addition to being a Service Event Lead for HC Serves, she is a Generation HC Mentor and certified HHA. Outside of school, Angeles plays tennis and reads and plays video games with friends!
Keya Patel is a junior majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Mathematics with future aspirations of attending medical school to be a doctor. She is currently in the 4+4 Combined Program with Robert Wood Johnson. In addition to being a Service Events Lead with HC Serves at the Honors College, she is a tutor through SASHP Peer Tutoring Program. Outside of school, Keya enjoys gaming, listening to music, and hanging out with friends.
Rachel Kim (2025) is a rising junior majoring in Cognitive Science. On top of being a Service Events Lead for HC Serves, she is involved in multiple research projects that span over the topics of neuroscience to psychology to linguistics. In her free time, she enjoys baking and reading, and going to the gym.
Sophia Hseuh (2024) is an HC Serves Service Events Lead majoring in Molecular Biology & Biochemistry and minoring in Chemistry, Chinese, and Psychology on the premed track. Some of her favorite service events include blood drives, community cleanups, and Scarlet Day of Service, so look forward to those! Outside of HC Serves, Sophia also works as a medical scribe in the RWJUH New Brunswick ED. In her free time, she enjoys reading, drawing, and learning new languages.
Tanirikka Ramkumar is a sophomore majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Computer Science, paralleling on the pre-med track. In addition to being a member of the HC Serves Leadership Team, Tanirikka is the Hindu Student Council secretary, Captain for the Rutgers University Dance Marathon, and a Research Assistant for the Rutgers Neuropsychology Laboratory. Outside of academics, Tanirikka enjoys cooking, traveling, knitting, and listening to music.
