Talk– "Independent Filmmaking and Its Intersectional Pursuits: Artistry, Innovation, Society, and Capital"
Isaac F. Davis is a New York-based writer and director known for his captivating, emotive, and grand filmmaking style. He is the Founder and CEO of Iacon Pictures and Iacon Media. Born on April 9, 1998, in Tallahassee, Florida, Isaac began his filmmaking journey at the age of 9 when he discovered inspiration in DreamWorks’ 1998 animated film, “The Prince of Egypt.” Witnessing the narrative unfold on a modest Sony tube television in Chicago, Illinois, ignited his passion for the art of making motion pictures.
At The College of William & Mary, Isaac honed his skills as a visionary business owner and filmmaker. The award-winning short film “Solo Orange” (2018), produced with a dedicated crew of nearly fifteen college students, received acclaim at various film festivals. Notably, it won Best Student Film at the New York Cinematography Awards in 2019 and Best Short Film at the Mindfield Film Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the same year.
Isaac had a pivotal moment in his filmmaking journey, working briefly under legendary Key Grip Richard Guinness Jr. on the set of “Mr. Robot” (USA Network). This experience solidified his love for New York City. Isaac’s latest film “Fall On Me” premiered twice in NYC, and he is currently developing his first narrative feature, “Asher’s Gate: A Deconstructive Thesis.”
