HC Master Class and Golf Clinic

Networking and business frequently occur on the golf course, but many people either do not have experience golfing, have never been invited to a ‘seat at the table’ for these types of networking opportunities, or feel uncomfortable joining in because of a lack of familiarity with the sport. Join a small cohort of students for private golf lessons with our very own Rutgers Golf Pro, Lisa Jensen, on the Rutgers Busch Campus Golf Course.

Students will meet for two sessions. The first session will take place in a classroom at the Honors College where you will learn a short history of the game, some etiquette and rules, discussion about the golf course and how each shot is generally played. The second session will be in person at the Practice & Teaching Facility at the golf course where you will be introduced to the basic principles of putting, chipping and full swing. Before you leave, we will walk to the first tee of the golf course and show you the areas of the course that were discussed in the first class; if it not busy we will walk the first hole. These small group lessons will introduce you to the game of golf with basic skills and knowledge so that you can have the confidence to continue learning the sport and eventually use it as a networking tool.

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! One of the two lessons will take place at the Rutgers Golf Course on Busch Campus, which is not near any bus stop, so you will need to arrange transportation or walk from the ARC or Hill bus stops. Please leave enough time to get there as the class will start promptly at 2 pm. If you are driving, there is a large lot that is provided to golf course patrons. Drive to the far-right corner of the lot and you will see us set up at the end of the range. Please wear comfortable sporting attire and shoes. All supplies will be provided to students during the lessons.

Space is limited. First-come, first-serve. All students will be notified if they are the first registrants or placed on the waitlist.

Dates and Locations:

  1. Friday, April 4th, 2:00-4:00 pm: History of the game, parts of a golf course, rules and etiquette, and how advancing your knowledge and skill can greatly increase your exposure at work and provide leisure in your private life.
