Eleanor (Nellie) Agosta, BS (MD/PhD student) she/hers, graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Biology in 2017 and matriculated into the MD/PhD program at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2019. During her gap years, she worked as a Research Associate at a biotech start-up deriving platelets from peripheral blood cells and induced pluripotent stem cells. Currently, she is a graduate student at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey where she works in the lab of Dr. Cristina Montagna. Her research is focused on how human papillomavirus integration into the human genome and genomic instability lead to cervical cancer development. Outside of the lab she serves as a director of the HIPHOP Promise Clinic, a student-run clinic providing continuity care to the underserved population of New Brunswick. She also serves as the president of the Physician Scientist Student Organization of the MD/PhD program. She is passionate about mentorship and is always looking for opportunities to connect with other students in the greater Rutgers community.
