Harita Menon received her PhD in Biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. Under the mentorship of Dr. Bonnie Firestein in the Cell Biology and Neuroscience Department at Rutgers, she did her postdoctoral training. For her postdoctoral training Dr. Menon received NIH’s Institutional Research and Career Development Award which gave her more exposure to teaching. In the past she has been involved with outreach activities for middle and high school students from New Brunswick schools in New Jersey where the purpose of the outreach was to excite the students about science, specifically neuroscience. She is very passionate about teaching and is always excited about undergraduate mentoring and community outreach activities.
