Honors-Specific Departmental Courses
Some departments have courses that are only for honors students, often at the upper-level. Recent offerings have included Advanced Econometrics, Introduction to Science Fiction, and Advanced Studies in Law. In many cases, these are courses designed for students pursuing departmental honors, sometimes as part of a capstone project, and often these courses are open to majors who are not in the SAS Honors Program or the Honors College but have demonstrated their ability to perform at the highest undergraduate level.
Another possibility is to create an honors section that meets simultaneously with a regular section and that has slightly different requirements for students in the honors section.
As with all other honors courses, both the SAS Honors Program and the Honors College are available and committed to helping departments and faculty design honors courses that will succeed.
