Join the Honors College for “Smash the Stigma,” a high-energy mental health workshop in celebration of National First-Generation College Student Celebration Day, open to all students. Release stress through plate-smashing and stress piñatas, enjoy free food, and earn one HC Serves hour while connecting with peers and learning from CAPS Counselor Shan Reeves. Engage in an open discussion that explores the meaning of being first-generation, the diversity of educational backgrounds, and how students can reflect on privilege and academic pressure during midterm season.
➤ Through this program, you can fulfill your Public Scholarship requirement for +Honors Contract Courses and Capstones.
One of the most important skills you can develop is the ability to succinctly present an idea in an accessible and captivating way. What better way to hone that skill than to participate in a fun event in a safe space, where your fellow Honors College students are cheering you on, and there is no grade attached, and there are no high stakes! Enter…”One Quick Thing I Learned.”
This event is featuring:
Join us for an informative session on how to become a successful student innovator and entrepreneur and how HC funding can help. Learn about other Rutgers resources to support your own innovation path.
Snacks will be available!
Learn more about why and how to vote in the election for New Jersey’s next governor! Food, games, and swag will be provided. Honors College students will receive one HC Serves hours for participating.
Join us and de-stress with a session led by teaching artist Micah Steinerman of Scarlet Arts RX. No experience necessary. All arts materials will be provided. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served.
Join us for a special Friendsgiving Dinner celebrating first-generation students and members of our Affinity Groups! Enjoy good company, gratitude, and creativity as we share a meal. It’s a chance to relax, connect, and celebrate community before the holiday break. This event is supported by the Gen HC program and Affinity Groups for Asian, Black, International, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and Middle Eastern students. Pottery art is first-come, first-served.
