Graduate Mentor Fellow
Laura Byron is a third-year student in the Cell and Developmental Biology track in the Molecular Biosciences program. She received her B.A. in Genetics from Rutgers University and spent several gap years working in both industry and academia before returning to graduate school. She currently works in Dr. Yang Lyu's lab studying Alzheimer's disease and is a TA. She is happy to discuss the honors thesis and the decisions beyond undergraduate education, such as gap years, careers in industry vs. academia, and applying to graduate school.
