Academic Policies

Honors College Scholastic Standing Policy

The academic performance of all Honors College students will be reviewed at the end of each semester and take into account the following elements:

  • Satisfactory academic progress (meeting GPA requirements)
  • Satisfactory academic progress in Honors (meeting course requirements by defined semesters)
  • Satisfactory service progress (meeting expectation for 10 hours of service annually in first thru third years)
  • Filing for Capstone Project completion (end of junior year).

All decisions regarding a student's academic progress status in the program are based on the fall or spring grade point average (GPA) and also takes into account their school based requirements.

Students who are found to be insufficiently meeting the requirements for standing and progress will be given warnings, possible probationary terms, or informed of their dismissal.

All dismissals and probationary assessments may be appealed. Students should contact an Honors College Advisor for the processes and procedures to be followed in the case of an appeal.
