Friendsgiving Pottery Night

Join us for a special Friendsgiving Dinner celebrating first-generation students and members of our Affinity Groups! Enjoy good company, gratitude, and creativity as we share a meal. It’s a chance to relax, connect, and celebrate community before the holiday break. This event is supported by the Gen HC program and Affinity Groups for Asian, Black, International, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and Middle Eastern students. Pottery art is first-come, first-served.

Responsible AI in Practice: Skills, Risks, and Leadership

Join the Rutgers Honors College for a timely conversation on what AI really is, beyond the hype, and how it’s transforming business and society. A Microsoft panel will examine practical value, new skill demands, risks of deskilling, and the ethics of responsible AI (fairness, transparency, accountability), including impacts on privacy, bias, and trust. A networking reception follows for students, faculty fellows, staff, and administrators.

World AIDS Day: DAY WITH(OUT) ART

In honor of World AIDS Day, join the Honors College Faculty Fellows for a moving panel that reflects on the history and evolution of the HIV epidemic through personal stories, film, and the performing arts. This program celebrates resilience, honors lives lost, and highlights the power of art and testimony in shaping understanding and compassion.

Brown Bag on the HPO (pre-med/pre-dental) with Julie Traxler

For students just starting on the path towards dental or medical school, Rutgers has an essential group to help you: the Health Professions Office (HPO).

 

Faculty Fellow David Tulloch will host Dr. Julie Traxler, Associate Dean for Academic Programs at SEBS, to learn about starting your relationship with the HPO. This will be a casual conversation over the lunch hour, at the Honors Lounge at Waller Hall on November 6 at Noon. 

Crisis, Care, and Courage: An Afternoon with Chase Strangio

In honor of trans awareness week, join us for a powerful conversation on the urgent state of transgender justice, from rising anti-trans legislation to the fight for healthcare and safety. Grounded in history, resilience, and community care, this talk offers tools for navigating political divides, using personal narrative to build bridges, and mobilizing for change—offering inspiration and strategy for anyone committed to equity and justice. Honors College students will receive two HC Serves hours for participating.
