First-Year Housing Application & Honors Residential Communities

Housing Application 

First-Year students should complete a housing application, select Honors, and identify a campus preference by June 5 to be eligible for Honors housing. Housing assignments are based on the date of housing application completion. 


Instructions for choosing "Rutgers Honors Housing:" 

  • Go to your myRutgers Portal, open the Housing module, and click on the application link. 
  • Complete or update the application by June 5, if you have not yet done so. 
  • To be placed in Honors College community housing, click on "RU Interested in a Residential Program?" in the left column
  • At the bottom of the page, select from the dropdown menu list: "Rutgers Honors Housing" option

2026-27 Academic Year Residences

Honors housing is available across all campuses at Rutgers–New Brunswick. Below you can see the residential options available to you during the 2026-27 academic year. Students may also choose to live in a non-honors community or commute and receive access to the same honors support.
