Welcome to Rutgers University and the Honors Community! Pick up your key from your Resident Assistants and head to your assigned room to unpack, unwind, and meet your Honors Community Mentor, roommate and floormates. Specific move-times and details can be found below for those moving in on Monday, August 25.
5 Seminary Place
Move in will take place from 8:00am-5:00pm per the guidelines provided by Rutgers Residence Life for College Avenue Campus, Honors College/5 Seminary Place.
Before You Arrive…
- Plan to arrive at your assigned move-in time, no earlier or later! This is to accommodate traffic across College Avenue.
- Be sure to communicate your floor, wing, and room number to your family or guests who travel with you to campus (E for East, S for South, and N for North - plus room number)
- Identify a meeting spot with your guests in case your cell phone service does not work.
- Know your route! If you’re in the North Wing, you’ll be taking the Service Elevator across the Courtyard to the North Elevators upstairs. If you’re in the South Wing, you’ll be taking the South Elevator up to your floor. Residents in the East Wing can go up either way.
- Plan to bring your own collapsible bins or large bags that are able to be easily carried!
Once You’re Here…
- Park and unload your car according to the directions of Move-In staff support, leaving someone with your vehicle at all times.
- After you unload the vehicle, make sure a member of your party moves the car to a designated parking location, either the College Avenue Parking Deck or the lots behind the College Avenue Student Center. Cars that remain on Seminary Place after unloading will be verbally warned and may be towed by on-site RUPD officers.
- Please avoid unloading in parking lots as this will be a heavy traffic day on campus
- Move-In volunteers will meet your vehicle and bring a moving bin to help you unload
- Get your key from your Resident Assistants at their Key Pick-Up tent along Seminary Place in front of the Honors College Building.
- Get your welcome gift from the Honors College Welcome Tent on Seminary Place!
After Unpacking…
- After unpacking, the Move-In Crew will take your bins back downstairs and you can get settled in your space.
- Meet your roommate, Resident Assistant, and Honors Community Mentor throughout the building.
- Stop by the Honors College Welcome Tent to get your general questions answered.
