After Developing Brooklyn Nets Fan Site, a Senior Sees His Future in AI

Since arriving at Rutgers, Tej Shah ('24, RBS/HC) has worked diligently to become the kind of talent he said the tech world needs. Although his Nets fan site was archived years ago, his dedication to becoming a “great technical talent” remains very much alive. “My long-term goal after Rutgers is to commercialize AI and to help solve really important problems,” said Shah, adding that health care, clean energy and fighting disinformation are among the areas that captivate him.

As an eighth-grader, Olivia Colavito received treatment from a physical therapist after straining a hamstring during a dance class.

That initial exposure to the science of rehabilitation took root in her mind.

“PT helped me so much,” said Colavito, adding that she was able to return to dancing and running in about six weeks. “Besides myself, I remember the therapists helping so many patients who were very grateful to receive treatment.”

Amol Lotia ('20, SOE/RBS/HC) began his career at Rutgers as an engineering student aiming to expand his analytical skillset and problem-solving abilities, but his interest in business remained central too. Driven by both of his passions, he has a dual degree in economics and industrial and systems engineering. With his experience as assistant director of the prestigious Road to Wall Street program and past internship at Credit Suisse, Amol is prepared for his full time position there in the Financial Sponsors Group.

For Aryeh Iosif, giving is an opportunity to be a catalyst for positive change. His journey began in high school with a volunteer opportunity to help children in long-term care. This experience prompted him to continue serving through the Honors College, “Where else could you just walk two minutes and have opportunities to serve your community? ...These small service events at the Honors College were a huge catalyst for me in getting involved further in service.”

At 14, He Began his Mission to Treat Autism

Nicholas Page was just 14 when he started working in the lab of a Rutgers–Robert Wood Johnson Medical School professor.

He landed that gig by simply asking for it. Page was participating in the Brain Bee, a competition for high school students hosted by the Medical School.

“I was mingling with faculty and asking about research opportunities for high school students,” he says.
