Danielle ('20/SEBS), a pre-veterinary student and a member of the Honors College, traveled to Belize over Winter Break as part of a student team providing services there. She shared her amazing experience with us:
Being a student-athlete means learning to work with others with different perspectives. For senior gymnast Eriel Santagado, she took that one step further and traveled across the globe with Rutgers students, who shared the common goal of learning more about primatology. That adventure has enriched her in many ways and helped her focus more on what her future path may be.
This quote and this picture (first above, left), taken at Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, tell the story of a trip taken out of curiosity, and fueled by adventure. Over spring break, I visited Japan as 1 of 23 students chosen to represent Rutgers Business School as part of the Kakehashi Project, a program designed to promote friendship ties between Japan and citizens of North American countries.
