Media Team Members

Rhea Swain (HC '22) is an Art History major and Political Science minor in the School of Arts and Sciences (HC’22). Apart from partaking in the creative storytelling of the HC Media Team through photography and writing, Rhea also writes for the Daily Targum and is a part of the Rutgers Art History Student Association. In her free time, she enjoys painting, baking, visiting museums, and hanging out with her friends, family, and dog Thor.

Jake Rattigan (HC ’22) is a junior from Pilesgrove, NJ. He is pursuing a double major in Psychology and Economics, along with a minor in Spanish and certificate in Public Policy Economics. In addition to serving as the Lead Ambassador for Student Outreach, Jake is a Site Leader for Rutgers University Alternative Breaks, LEx Leader, active member of HC Speaks and the HC Media Team, and research assistant in the Social, Health, & Interdisciplinary Psychophysiology Lab. Jake cherishes his time at the HC for all of the wonderful adventures he has had there—ranging from planning the annual Winter Ball to the frantic essay writing at 3 A.M.

Julie (HC’23) is a proud member of the Honors College. Her passions include dancing, music, and serving her community. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, writing, or choreographing. She is a part of the DRC, and is very excited to be working with the media team. 

Ali (HC ’23) is a sophomore in the School of Arts and Sciences and School of Communication and Information pursuing a major in Journalism and Media Studies and minors in Sociology and Creative Writing. She loves experimenting with media and using it to build connections. In addition to Media Team, Ali is a member of Phi Sigma Pi which is a gender-inclusive national honor fraternity. She’s also a part of Youth Empowerment Club and several other groups at Rutgers.

Jasmin Hedvat (HC ‘22) is studying marketing, economics, and comparative literature while pursuing a certificate in women’s leadership through the IWL Leadership Scholars Program. Aside from the Media Team, Jasmin is involved with Douglass Residential College, the Youth Empowerment Club, and the Honors College Alumni & Employer Engagement Board. In her free time, you will find her laughing, planning events, making niche Spotify playlists, and dancing. Jasmin hopes to capture the powerful stories of students at the Honors College to foster a sense of community for current and prospective students. 

Anushka Varma (HC’23) is a Political Science and Communication double major in the School of Arts and Sciences. In addition to writing for the media team, she is an Honors College Ambassador and is the Secretary of the Rutgers Women’s Political Caucus. In her free time, Anushka is watching TV shows, baking, or dreaming of traveling the world.
 

Sophie Brown (HC ‘24) is a first year student in the School of Arts and Sciences pursuing a major in English. She enjoys reading, journalism, graphic design, and music, and hopes to combine her interests on the Media Team to develop content that captures the spirit of the Honors College. When she’s not busy doing any of the above, she also enjoys volunteering, badminton, and playing the saxophone.

Camila (HC ’24) is a Political Science major in the School of Arts and Sciences and part of the Media Team. In her free time, Camila enjoys playing video games, baking and needle felting. She hopes to further explore and participate in the HC Community through her Media Team contributions.
