Open House with the Honors College

The Honors College is just one stop for Honors College admitted students only on your day attending University Open House. Please be sure to make time for attending academic and school-based sessions to learn more about your specific school. Download the Rutgers-NB App and the Open House 2025 schedule to find answers to more general questions. The Honors College will be available for questions at the President's Tent (15 Seminary Place) and at 5 Seminary Place on the College Avenue Campus.

In this interactive workshop, we will discuss and explore purposes of a conference research poster, content inclusion, structure and formatting, and basic presentation skills.

Learn more about why and how to vote in the election for New Jersey’s next governor! Food, games, and swag will be provided. Honors College students will receive one HC Serves hours for participating.

Prospective Student Tour

Join us for a prospective student tour of the honors spaces on College Avenue at 5 Seminary Place.

Tours will depart from the Atrium at 5 Seminary Place at 1:15pm and 2:15pm. Please register at least one week before your desired date. You can arrive at either of the aforementioned times. You will not need to present a confirmation when you arrive. Event registration is recommended but not required.

Rock Your Roots: Celebrating Black History Month

Join us to honor the past, celebrate the legacy, and uplift Black history together through a panel discussion, performances, and presentations. Dr. Priscilla Ferreira, an Afro-Brazilian geographer who works on solidarity economies, is a scholar-activist who will discuss the power and complexities of what it means to be Black in this moment. HC Faculty Fellow Dr. Nicole Burrowes will give a mini lecture on the history of "Black History Month." There will also be a Black history slideshow and student leader panelists will lead a discussion.

Smash the Stigma: Celebrating National First-Generation College Student Day

Join the Honors College for “Smash the Stigma,” a high-energy mental health workshop in celebration of National First-Generation College Student Celebration Day, open to all students. Release stress through plate-smashing and stress piñatas, enjoy free food, and earn one HC Serves hour while connecting with peers and learning from CAPS Counselor Shan Reeves. Engage in an open discussion that explores the meaning of being first-generation, the diversity of educational backgrounds, and how students can reflect on privilege and academic pressure during midterm season.
