Community Service Work of HC Students Featured on NJTV

By Donel Young

HC student Eshan Kaul ('19/SEBS) spoke with NJTV earlier this month as part of a larger story on the special relationship between Rutgers and New Brunswick that also featured Rutgers–New Brunswick's Chancellor Dutta and Barry Smith, founder of Youth Empowerment Services - YES. Eshan spoke about the work that he and several other HC students have done with YES to scale up their tutoring program, A2E, to include hundreds of Rutgers student volunteers over the last two years. Focused on helping elementary school children in New Brunswick, A2E combines traditional homework help with lessons in STEM and life skills like empathy and teamwork. You can view the whole Rutgers segment beginning at the :58 mark in the video with Eshan starting at the 2:00 mark in the video!
