Beyond Leadership 101: How to channel and express your unique leadership style

Registration is required at the link below!

As bright honors students who strive to excel, you have probably been shown one particular model of a leader who is out in front, taking charge, making changes, leading the way, serving on executive boards…doing ALL the things! But... have you thought about what values this model of leadership reflects, and who exactly it promotes? What would the world be like if everyone led this way? Have you considered that you are probably leading in many other ways that you haven’t come to appreciate or know how to leverage to your advantage?

In this session, Dr. Kristen Syrett (HC Faculty Fellow, Professor of Linguistics and Cognitive Science) will work with you as a mentor, advisor, trained coach, and speaker/consultant (and former honors student herself!) to help you tap into the many dimensions of your unique leadership styles and capacities. You’ll work together creatively to help you tap into your inner leader, listen effectively, be an agent of change, and express yourself as a leader in every aspect of your life.

This session is for intended for students at all stages of your undergraduate career, whether you are just about to graduate and are practicing your interviewing skills as you travel beyond the banks of the Raritan, or you have just started your Rutgers journey and are wondering how to position yourself as visionary Scarlet Knight we’ll be reading news stories about in semesters to come!
