Honors College Scholarship Application

For Spring 2026 academic year, Honors College students (sophomores and above) from any major program of study are eligible and encouraged to apply. 

Application opens December 8, 2025 and closes January 7, 2026.
 

Categories of Support

  1. Study Abroad for a Semester or Summer
    For sustained study abroad experiences that are not supported by other HC scholarships (short-term or embedded programs). 
    PLEASE NOTE: FOR SPRING & SUMMER 2026;must have proof of acceptance into program.
  2. Capstone Research or Experiential Support
    Supporting students whose research or experiential needs will require additional and beyond the ordinary levels of financial support. 
    PLEASE NOTE: Spring 2026 or SU2026 only
  3. Unmet Financial Need, as defined by the Office of Student Financial Aid. This includes any need that exceeds beyond the current cost of attendance, after factoring in all existing aid for the 2025-26 academic year.
  4. LGBTQ+ Learning Collaborative Study Abroad Summer 2026 or Research Funds Spring 2026 and Summer 2026
  5. Merit (exceptional academic achievement and co-curricular contributions to the Honors Community)

Students may apply for ONLY ONE scholarship category from the above list.

For monies awarded in FALL 2025 the awards will be posted as soon as verification for each of the categories is completed. Students who are "anticipating" enrollment or program acceptance in SPRING 2026, should they be awarded, will have funds withheld until all enrollments are finalized.

 

Application Requirements

To apply you must fill out the application which you can access below.
Please have the following additional information ready:

  1. Submit a personal statement below of between 500-550 words explaining why you and your circumstances fit the category and help you stand out, even within an honors setting;
  2. Attach a copy of your unofficial transcripts; 
  3. Attach any supporting documentation totaling no more than 3 additional pages (a letter of support from your research mentor, acceptance letter for study abroad, etc.)
  4. Attach any financial documents that demonstrate unmet need (after any and all institutional, state, federal, and private support). This includes a screenshot of your Student Financial Aid Portal.
