Colors of Identity: Paint Your Flag

Colors of Identity: Paint Your Flag is hosted by the Honors College LGBTQ+ Affinity Group in collaboration with the LGBTQ+ Learning Collaborative. This event offers a creative and welcoming space for students to explore and express their identities by painting a flag that represents who they are, whether that reflects their sexuality, gender identity, cultural background, or personal experiences.

Crisis, Care, and Courage: An Afternoon with Chase Strangio

In honor of trans awareness week, join us for a powerful conversation on the urgent state of transgender justice, from rising anti-trans legislation to the fight for healthcare and safety. Grounded in history, resilience, and community care, this talk offers tools for navigating political divides, using personal narrative to build bridges, and mobilizing for change—offering inspiration and strategy for anyone committed to equity and justice. Honors College students will receive two HC Serves hours for participating.

 

Digital Safety for the Campus Community: Protecting Your Presence

The Tyler Clementi Center is proud to host Digital Safety for the Campus Community: Protect Your Presence on April 15. Presented in partnership with the Honors College LGBTQ+ Learning Collaborative, this event features E.C. Pizarro III, the former executive director of an international transgender tech organization. This session is part of the GAYpril calendar of events in collaboration with the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities (SJE).

Heightened Scrutiny Film Screening

Join the Honors College LGBTQ+ Learning Collaborative, Tyler Clementi Center, and Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities for a screening of Heightened Scrutiny, part of the Honors College Film Series. Food will be provided. Students will receive two HC Serves hours for participating.

Inclusive Sex Education Workshop

All students are invited to an inclusive sex education event to learn about consent, safe sex, and sex-positivity, in an interactive environment. Attendees will receive two HC Serves hours, giveaways, and the opportunity to be entered into raffles. This is a queer inclusive program hosted by the Honors College LGBTQ+ Learning Collaborative in partnership with Rutgers HOPE, VPVA, and the HC LGBTQ+ Affinity Group. Light refreshments will be served.


This event was moved from October 13 to December 5.

LGBTQ+ Learning Collaborative Interest Meeting

Join Honors College faculty, staff, and fellow students to learn about ways to get involved with the newly formed LGBTQ+ Learning Collaborative, which helps to build community through learning with LGBTQ+ individuals, allies, and supporters. This program has sponsored events like screenings from the Film Appreciation Series and an inclusive safe-sex education workshop.
