Sriya is a first-year student majoring in computer science and minoring in mathematics and music. She is a member of the Honors College and Douglass Residential College. Before coming to Rutgers University, she did not have experience in the area of social justice, but was greatly interested after being involved at her temple. She aspires to help promote diversity and inclusion in the world, specifically in the world of technology, and thus help create an environment in which all people feel safe and important. She also hopes to bring proper awareness to otherwise sensitive topics while maintaining an inclusive environment. In addition to the Diversity Peer Educators program, she is involved in the Undergraduate Student Alliance of Computer Scientists), WiCS (Women in Computer Science), and HARU (the Korean-pop dance club). To destress, she enjoys dancing, playing the flute, reading new books, cooking, and obsessing over the latest Marvel movies and K-pop tunes.
