Honors College at Rutgers—New Brunswick, Our Community (March 23, 2020)

Monday, March 23, 2020

Dear Honors College Community,

We hope you are doing well and staying safe. We are thinking of you and are sad and disappointed that we will not complete the semester together as planned. But, please know that we are enormously proud of what you have accomplished—and continue to accomplish even in these challenging circumstances. We are a community, and we are here for each other.

We, along with the Honors College Academic Advisers and the rest of the HC staff, will continue to communicate regularly with you. You should also be hearing from your professors, Residence Life, the Office of Career Exploration & Success, and many others across the University so that you have all the information and resources you need to successfully complete your semester.

Please visit our Student Resources page for additional support during this time. If you run into problems or have questions, please let us know—we will work with you to identify and connect with the proper resources. If you are facing specific challenges with food, shelter, finances, or safety here or abroad, please email us immediately.

As directed by the University, all events and meetings at the Honors College and Rutgers at large have been suspended. We will update you on HC events, particularly those to celebrate our graduating seniors, that will be taking place virtually as plans are confirmed.

Please refer to the University's coronavirus website, which is updated on an ongoing basis, for all official information regarding the University and COVID-19.

Email remains the best way to contact us, and we can then follow up by phone, WebEx, etc. to talk through any concerns or support you may need.

We will miss you, but know that our community is strong, and we will gather again as soon as we are able.

Stay in touch and be well.

Your Deans,

Matt Matsuda          Paul Gilmore
Academic Dean        Administrative Dean
