Syed (Maria) Ibrahim

Maria Ibrahim is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Molecular Bioscience program. Her journey in cancer research began as an undergraduate student at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy where she graduated with a bachelor's in pharmaceutical sciences. As a summer undergraduate research fellow at the Pino Lab, she investigated the relationship of oxidative stress on neuroblastoma cells. After receiving my bachelor's, she pursued a Master of Science at Tufts University in pharmacology and drug development. Following graduation, she joined Sangeeta Bhatia’s team at the laboratory of multiscale regenerative technologies (LMRT),at MIT. While there, she learned how to apply her scientific training and lead a project independently. Currently, she is a second-year Ph.D. student in Eileen White's lab at the Rutger's Cancer Institute of New Jersey. She welcomes the opportunity to share her experiences as a mentor.
