The Honors College Welcomes the Class of 2029!

The Honors College welcomed over 950 students into its first-year class and within the newly integrated honors community. After combining the Honors College (HC) and other honors programs and academies, all honors students on campus can now access a broader and more enriched academic and co-curricular experience.

‘I Wanted to Give Back’

Born out of his lifelong commitment to education as a scholar and a teacher, and his desire to connect with students at his alma mater through the Honors College community, Richard A. Melanson (RC '66), renowned scholar and author, established the Richard A. Melanson Endowed Scholarship for academically gifted, first-generation college students who face financial hardships.

Undergraduate Upends a 40-Year-Old Data Science Conjecture

Honors College alumnus Andrew Krapivin ('24, SAS/HC), a Goldwater Scholar as a junior and the first Churchill Scholar at Rutgers in a decade who now attends the University of Cambridge, has continued to build on his research involving data storage. His curiosity and knowledge led to his invention of a new kind of hash table, challenging longstanding ideas.
