Frequently Asked Questions:

Am I required to do a Capstone as a "Legacy" SAS/RBS Student?

Yes. The Capstone remains a mandatory element of your curriculum and must be completed, without exception. If you do not wish to do a Capstone then you may switch to the NEW Curriculum. Those who remain int he Legacy curriculum will graduate with a Capstone and thus be awarded the new designation of Honors College Scholar with Distinction.

Has anything changed for "Legacy" SAS/RBS Students?

Yes, three things have changed. First, the Honors College Common Reading is now an opportunity open to all students (regardless of class year) and it will be included as a required reading for several Interdisciplinary Honors Seminars as well as forming the foundation for several of our Academic Year programs, panels, and discussions. Second, the required GPA for "good standing" in the Honors College, has been set at 3.25 each semester AND cumulative. Third, RBS students will now go to RBS-designated advisors for their Honors College academic matters, rather than SAS Advising Deans.

Where do I go for help in understanding all the changes, potential changes, and to get answers about the Honors College moving forward?

As always, please go to your advisor(s). Advising is now School-based (including for RBS, as mentioned above) so please visit the Honors College Advising webpage to learn who now serves as your Honors College advisor(s).  All academic and curricular (including Service Hours) questions should be directed to these individuals. If you have questions about Honors College co-curricular, extra-curricular, or social events, you may reach out to the Honors College Deans and Program Directors, as designated in the weekly newsletters.

Why am I now a part of the Honors College?
