Tatiana Popovitchenko attended Fordham University and earned a B.A. in natural sciences. She then moved to Norway to work on her M.Sc. in biological chemistry at the University of Stavanger. There, she successfully defended her master’s thesis in dopaminergic neuron degeneration in C. elegans. She is now working with Dr. Mladen-Roko Rasin in the Department of Neuroscience at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School on her thesis project, which focuses on the development of the neocortex and specifically the post-transcriptional regulation that goes into specifying this illusory and fascinating structure. Tatiana also serves as a senior editor for the student-run iJOBs blog.
