Rachel Paseka


Rachel Paseka is a doctoral candidate in ecology and evolution at Rutgers University. She currently studies the interactions between parasitism and nutrient cycling in local streams and lakes. As a graduate student, she has received the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences Excellence Fellowship. Rachel has served as a teaching assistant for courses in ecology and evolution and spent one year teaching science to middle school students aboard the Rutgers Science Explorer. Prior to starting at Rutgers, Rachel conducted field research in Nebraskan lakes and Trinidadian streams, searched for the origins of Southwestern parasitism in archaeological materials, and spent a semester in the Galápagos studying biology. She received her B.S. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she was a member of the Honors Program.
