Wendy A. Ritch

Wendy Ritch

As an alumna of Mount Holyoke College, Harvard University, and UMASS-Amherst, Wendy studied political theory, American politics, feminist and queer theory, theology, feminist theology, and ethics. After 16 years of working as faculty, staff, and an administrator at institutions of higher education in MA, VT, and NJ, she became a candidate in a joint Ph.D. program at Rutgers University and NJIT in urban systems, which encompass the disciplines of urban health, environments, and policy. Her research interests include LGBTQ+ migration, population health, health equity, and health care provider cultural competence. A first-generation college student from a working-class family, Wendy found college to be a transformational experience. She loves to teach because she enjoys challenging students to think critically about themselves and their world.
