Join the Honors College in welcoming keynote speaker the Honorable Judge Victoria Pratt, Chief Judge and Professor at Rutgers Law School, who has gained national and international acclaim for her commitment to reforming the criminal justice system. While presiding over Newark Community Solutions, the Community Court Program, she provided alternatives to jail for low-level offenders. These alternatives included community service, individual and group counseling sessions, and her signature assignment of introspective essays. Her respectful approach has had a positive effect on court participants' experiences, and how the community views the court. As a nationally recognized expert in procedural justice and alternative sentencing, she has appeared on MSNBC’s the Melissa Harris Perry Show, the Emmy-award winning PBS show Due Process-Community Court: A Kinder, Gentler Way?, and National Public Radio’s WBGO: Conversations with Allan Wolper. Judge Pratt is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and New York, and is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.

During this event, you will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops led by Kaplan Mobray, motivational speaker, career consultant, and best selling author, who will focus on enhancing your leadership and personal branding skills.

All students, faculty, and staff are invited, and lunch will be provided.
