Joseph Pellegrino is a Ph.D. candidate in the nutritional sciences department at Rutgers University. Currently, he is working on his dissertation project in metabolomics and exercise. He holds an M.S. in exercise physiology from the University of Montana where he studied muscle physiology and structural morphology, and dual B.S. degrees in biology and exercise science from Rutgers University. His research focuses on characterizing the physiological and biochemical responses to non-pharmacological interventions aimed at improving well-being and treatment of disease. Outside lab work, Joseph has volunteer coached with Special Olympics NJ, and worked in the state office helping other coaches manage their teams.
