Built on a legacy of honors education at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, the Honors College redefines what an interdisciplinary education can be by inviting the highest achieving students from across the liberal arts and professional schools to live and learn together to tackle complex problems and global issues—and to ultimately pursue a career with purpose.
The average SAT score of our inaugural class is 2160, which ranks in the top two percent nationwide, compared to the New Jersey average of 1526 and the national average of 1497.
Ninety percent of our students were in the top ten percent of their high school graduating classes.
The Honors College community reflects the diversity of Rutgers-New Brunswick overall, the most diverse university in the Big Ten Conference.
Our students benefit from the vast resources of Rutgers-New Brunswick, a leading global research institution, as well as the small college setting of the Honors College community. First-year students live at the Honors College alongside live-in faculty. Within the building is the dedicated academic advising staff, as well as high-tech seminar rooms for smaller class coursework, lounges throughout the building perfect for collaborating and socializing, and our Innovation Lab where students can explore, create, innovate, and collaborate.
At the Honors College, students learn how to develop ideas from the beginning of their college experience through research opportunities, mentorships with faculty and business advisers, internships in the field, intensive development and seed funding as a fellow at the Honors College Innovation Lab, and more. Through professional development, they learn to present their ideas in compelling and impactful ways so that they can ultimately move their ideas forward.
We'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you and/or your students in person to share more about our state-of-the-art facility, our unique community, and our interdisciplinary curriculum.
