Join the Service Assembly and the New York Blood Center to give back to those in need by donating blood. Every student who donates receives a Rutgers Cinema ticket and one service hour!

 

Sweet Snacks for New Brunswick

Join A2E (Asset Based Community Development and Education), a Youth Empowerment Services program that provides New Brunswick students with tutoring, mentoring and skill-building activities, in packaging some spooky snacks for the children at Roosevelt Elementary School! All volunteers will receive HC Serves Hours.

Join Honors College staff and RU Voting at the Coffee Bar for a celebration of civic engagement!  Apply for a mail-in ballot to vote in the midterm elections, learn about the HC Serves Series and completing your service requirement, and enjoy coffee, tea, and hot chocolate - with a side of giveaways.

Swab for Stem Cells

Join the local charity Kier’s Kidz and the community liaisons at a Stem Cell Drive in the Honors College East Lounge! Learn about stem cell donation and the Kier’s Kidz foundation, and donate - all it takes is swabbing the inside of your cheek with a cotton swab. It’s an easy and fun way to help the live of children and young adults with cancer. All who donate will receive one HC Serves hour!

Sponsored by the Diversity Peer Educators, this event will feature a panel of student leaders from the Eagleton Institute of Politics, who will be discussing ways to stay up to speed on the midterm election, how to decide which candidates to support, and why this election is so important. We will also be examining different news outlets to understand the role the media plays in our voting decisions.

Blanket Building

Join your Civic Responsibility Mentors in Residence and learn how to make fleece blankets that will be donated to children in need. All participants will receive HC Serves hours for participating, and there will be sleep-themed giveaways!
