Finding Philanthropy Scavenger Hunt

Thursday, April 26, 2018 -
8:00pm to 9:30pm

Discover the Honors College as you’ve never seen it!  Find hidden history, learn little-known facts about distinguished donors, and work with your team to become Scarlet Philanthropists. If you think you know everything about the Honors College, it’s time to find out what you’ve been missing. This event will feature desserts, prizes, and an opportunity to connect with alumni who bleed scarlet. Students will receive one HC serves hour for participating. Students who have participated in last year's Finding Philanthropy Scavenger Hunt are not eligible to participate again.

Carnival and Kids: Volunteering at The Learning Experience

Friday, April 20, 2018 -
2:00pm to 5:30pm

Join the Service Assembly at The Learning Experience daycare as they celebrate the Week of the Young! Students will be volunteering at a special carnival day by participating in fun and engaging activities with children ages six months to five years. Transportation will be provided, and students will receive 2.5 HC Serves hours for volunteering.

Pack the Pantry

Wednesday, April 11, 2018 -
12:00pm to 5:00pm

Join Rutgers Student Centers and Involvement and the Honors College in an interactive event to benefit the Rutgers Student Food Pantry!  Morrell Street will be transformed into a pop-up food pantry to collect donations and educate students about food insecurity at Rutgers.  During the event, students and student organizations can donate needed items to the Rutgers Student Food Pantry, located at 39 Union Street.

Service Assembly General Meeting

Join the Honors College Service Assembly for its fifth general meeting! The Service Assembly is a new HC organization dedicated to creating community service opportunities, connecting HC students with service projects around campus, and promoting service learning. All HC students are welcome. Contact the Service Assembly about creating your own service event at the HC.


Sunday, April 8, 2018 - 8:40am

 Interested in health and wellness, the environment, and want to make a positive impact in New Jersey? Join the Honors College Student Advisory Board for the second annual HC CARES Day! Students will travel to one of three community partners across New Jersey for community service projects, including fencing in bird nesting grounds at the beach, packaging medical supplies, and more. Students will receive HC Serves hours for participating.

Support and Service

Join the Service Assembly for More Love Letters writing, the opportunity to pitch your service program ideas, and light refreshments! More Love Letters is a global organization that ues the power of social media to write and mail letters to strangers all over the world in need of suppot, encouragement, and guidance. Students will receive one HC Serves hour for participating.

RU Gardening?

Do you like spending time outdoors and want to give back to our community? Spend an afternoon outdoors by volunteering at the Rutgers Gardens! Students will receive 4 HC Serves Hours for volunteering.

Swab for Stem Cells

Wednesday, April 4, 2018 -
8:00pm to 10:00pm

Join the local charity Kier’s Kidz and the Community Liaisons for a stem cell drive! Learn about stem cell donation and the Kier’s Kidz Foundation and donate - all it takes is swabbing the inside of your cheek with a cotton swab. It’s an easy and fun way to help the live of children and young adults with cancer. All who donate will receive a treat and one HC Serves hour!
